Run your first Discovery

Pick a Search Profile, run it, and find your new prospects on the Prospects page.

Once you have a saved Search Profile, running a Discovery is a short flow. This article covers the execution steps: pick a profile, run it, wait for it to finish, and open the Prospects page to review the results.

Before you start

  • You are an Owner or Admin. Only Owners and Admins can run Discoveries. Members cannot open Discovery.
  • Your workspace has Discovery Credits available. Check under Settings > Usage.

Steps

  1. Pick a Search Profile. Open Discovery in the sidebar. If your workspace has no profiles yet, create one first (see Configure your Search Profile). Otherwise pick an existing profile from the list.
PLACEHOLDER: replace with run-discovery-empty.light.png. Shows the Discovery page in empty state with 'No search profiles yet' message and the New profile button highlighted in the top right.
  1. Run the Discovery. Open the row menu on the profile and pick Run profile. Blake shows the toast Discovery started. Blake is on it. and redirects to the run detail.

  2. Wait for the Discovery to complete. Follow the progress through the stages: Casting the net, Scanning the waters, Sizing up the catch, Reeling in the details, Landing the catch, Done.

PLACEHOLDER: replace with run-discovery-progress.light.png. Shows the run detail page mid-progress: the five-stage stepper with 'Scanning the waters' active, and the counters Found / Scored / Enriched / Saved updating.
  1. Review the discovered prospects. When the run finishes, every discovered prospect lands on the Prospects page. Open Prospects in the sidebar to work through them. See Review and qualify prospects for the approve, reject, and bookmark actions.

Blake bills Discovery Credits only for new companies. If a company is already in your CRM, that slot is refunded. Only the Standard search depth is available in v1.

If this does not work

  • If Blake shows No companies could be found for this search query. Check your profile settings or try again., open the profile and widen the brief. A single country combined with a strict size band often returns zero.
  • If Blake shows There were {count} companies discovered, but none passed the quality filters. Adjust your search profile for better results., use the analyze affordance on the run detail. It suggests concrete profile changes.
  • If the run stalls with This run has been running for more than 15 minutes, that is not normal., stop the run and start a new one.
  • If Run profile is disabled with a tooltip about Discovery Credits, wait for the monthly reset or ask an Admin to upgrade the plan at Settings > Billing. For more on how credits work, see Credit and rate limits.
