Configure your Search Profile
Save a Search Profile that tells Blake who you want to do business with.
A Search Profile is Blake's brief for a Discovery run: the industries, regions, company size, and signals that make a company a good fit. The stronger your profile, the sharper every future Discovery. This article walks the recommended path: describe your ideal customer in your own words, let Blake generate the first draft, then refine.
Before you start
- You are an Admin or Owner. Members cannot open Discovery.
- You have a two-sentence description of your ideal customer in mind.
Start with a natural-language brief
The fastest way to a strong Search Profile is to tell Blake who you want to reach in your own words. AI Generate turns that description into a filled-in profile: industries, regions, size bands, and signals all populated from a single prompt. This is the recommended workflow for every new profile.
Steps
- Open Discovery in the sidebar.
- Click New profile in the top right of the Discovery page. Blake opens the Search Profile builder at
/discovery/new.
- Give the profile a Name so you can find it later.
- In Who do you want to reach?, describe your ideal customer in a sentence or two. The more specific you are, the better Blake's first draft. Example:
Dutch B2B SaaS scale-ups in fintech, 50 to 200 employees, expanding into DE. - Optionally open Tell Blake what to avoid and write a negative brief (industries, regions, keywords, or company traits Blake should skip).
- Click Generate. Blake reads your prompt, picks industries and regions, maps size bands, and drafts the brief in the fields below. This becomes your starting point; you can edit any field by hand from here on.
- Watch the Profile strength meter. It moves from Needs more through Solid to Strong as the profile gets more specific. Missing-hints tell you what to add.
- Click Save profile. Blake confirms with a toast and returns you to the Discovery page.
Run the profile
Back on the Discovery page, open the row menu on your new profile and pick Run profile. See Run your first Discovery for the full run flow.
Edit or duplicate a profile
- Edit profile in the same row menu reopens the builder with the current fields pre-filled.
- Duplicate copies the profile as a new draft so you can experiment without touching the original.
- Delete profile removes it. Companies already discovered by that profile stay in your workspace.
Search Profile limits per plan
Each plan supports a fixed number of saved Search Profiles per workspace:
| Plan | Search Profiles per workspace |
|---|---|
| Free | 2 |
| Scout | 4 |
| Closer | 10 |
| Dealmaker | 50 |
| Enterprise | Unlimited |
Reach the limit and Blake blocks New profile until you delete an existing one.
If Generate fills the wrong fields
- If Generate picks industries that miss the mark, edit the fields by hand. The AI draft is a starting point, not the final say.
- If the Profile strength stays at Needs more, add a Region and a specific Company size band. Those two lift the score fastest.
- If your market is thin, prefer fewer, broader tags over many narrow ones. Blake filters strictly on your regions.
Blake does not have a customer-facing preview-run action. When you want to test a change, save the profile and use Run profile. Every run counts toward your monthly and daily caps for the plan, so keep an eye on the counters at the top of Discovery.
