Your preferences
Set language, timezone, date format, week start, theme, and working hours.
Preferences are the personal settings that shape how Blake shows dates, times, and copy for you. They are separate from your profile: profile is who you are, preferences are how Blake talks to you.
Where to change
Open Settings > Preferences. Every field in this article lives on that page.
Language
Blake ships in English (en) and Dutch (nl) in v1. Pick from the dropdown or leave on Detect automatically to follow your browser's language.
Blake writes drafts and messages in the language you pick for the interface. If you draft in Dutch, the reply-thread stays in Dutch.
Timezone
The Timezone dropdown is a searchable list grouped by continent. Type "amst" or "new" to filter. Blake uses your timezone to:
- Show times on notifications and activity in your local time.
- Schedule actions Blake takes on your behalf.
- Calculate working-hours windows.
Default: Europe/Amsterdam. Change once when you move or travel long-term.
Date format
Pick how Blake shows dates in the app:
- DD MMM YYYY (default):
09 Jul 2026. - DD/MM/YYYY:
09/07/2026. - MM/DD/YYYY:
07/09/2026. - YYYY-MM-DD:
2026-07-09.
The choice affects every date display: activity, deals, notifications, exported CSVs.
Week starts on
Pick whether calendar-style widgets start on Monday (default) or Sunday. Affects Overview period picker and any calendar view.
Theme
Three choices: Light, Dark, or System (follows your OS). System is the default and works well for people who let their OS switch automatically at sunset.
Working hours
Set your working hours and working days so Blake respects them when scheduling actions and sending notifications.
- Start time and end time: default 09:00 to 17:30.
- Working days: pick any subset of Monday through Sunday. Default is Monday through Friday.
Blake uses these values for:
- Scheduling meetings on your behalf.
- Delaying non-urgent notifications until working hours (Push respects this; In-app does not).
- Send-time reasoning for outreach drafts.
Click Edit on the Working hours card to open the schedule dialog. Blake shows a compact summary (Mon-Fri 09:00-17:30) on the card when it is not being edited.
Holidays
Below Working hours, the Holidays card lists national and regional holidays for your timezone. Blake respects these for scheduling. Add or remove custom holidays from the same card.
If a preference does not stick
- Language did not switch: refresh the page. Blake persists language via a cookie; a stale tab can still render the previous locale.
- Theme keeps flipping: check that you did not pick System while your OS is set to auto-switch. Pick Light or Dark explicitly to stop the flips.
- Times look wrong: your timezone may not match your device. Set it explicitly.
