Manage tasks

Track your Actions with statuses, filters, and bulk moves.

Tasks are your working action list in Blake. Every task ties to a deal, a company, or a contact, so the work has context you can act on. This article covers the grid, statuses, filters, and bulk moves.

Tasks is where you plan and complete work. It sits alongside Inbox, which surfaces notifications about activity in the workspace. If you have to do something, it belongs in Tasks; if you need to be aware of something, it lands in Inbox.

PLACEHOLDER: replace with tasks-grid-overview.light.png. Shows the Tasks grid: columns for Name, Status, Priority, Lead, Account, Team, Summary, Health, and a favorite star; a filter chip strip at the top; and the sidebar Tasks row with a badge for open actions.

Open Tasks

Click Tasks in the sidebar. The badge next to the row shows how many open actions are assigned to you.

Columns

The default view shows the columns you use every day: Name, Status, Priority, Lead, Account, Team, Summary, Health, and a favorite star to pin rows.

Click the Columns picker in the top right to add fields you care about (owner, due date, external URL). Your choice persists per user.

The six statuses

Every task moves through a status. Blake uses six:

  • To do: not started yet.
  • In progress: someone is actively working on it.
  • On hold: paused for a reason (waiting on the customer, blocked).
  • Done: complete.
  • Cancelled: no longer needed.
  • Backlog: parked for later, not yet reviewed.

Change status inline by clicking the pill in the row. Blake registers each change with a silent undo toast.

  • The filter chip strip at the top handles quick filters (status, assignee, priority, due today).
  • Click Advanced filter for AND / OR trees on any column.
  • The search box matches on task name and summary.

Filters combine with sort. Share a view by copying the URL and sending it to a teammate.

Bulk actions

Select rows with the checkboxes to open the bulk-action bar. From there you can:

  • Change status for the selected rows.
  • Change priority.
  • Assign or unassign an owner.
  • Add or remove tags.
  • Delete (soft, recoverable from the recycle bin).
  • Select all {total} tasks: pick up every row across pages, not just the current view.

The favorite star

Click the star on any row to pin it. Favorites float to the top of your view so you can jump back into what mattered yesterday.

Task detail

Click a row to open the task detail. Two tabs:

  • Overview: title, description, checklist, links to the deal or company it belongs to.
  • Activity: comments, status changes, and system events.

The right side of the detail is a properties sidebar with everything editable in place.

Ask Blake for the next best action

Blake can prioritise your task list for you:

  • "What are my top three tasks for today?"
  • "Which tasks are stalling on my open deals?"
  • "Log a call I just finished with Acme and set a follow-up for Tuesday."

Blake grounds the answer in your live tasks and can log or update through the Log activity and related skills. See Skills and autonomy for how those approvals work.

If a task is missing

  • The Inbox category is muted: pipeline and assignment nudges may be hidden. Check Settings > Notifications > Inbox visibility.
  • The task is assigned to someone else: use the filter chip strip to switch to All assignees or a specific colleague.
  • You deleted the task: deletes are soft, so use the Undo toast that appears right after you delete. There is no separate restore screen in v1; if the toast is gone, contact support.
