Skills and autonomy

Skills let Blake act on your CRM. Choose Off, Ask, or Auto per skill.

Skills are the actions Blake can take on your CRM: drafting an email, moving a deal, logging an activity, preparing a call brief. Every skill has an autonomy level you control per skill.

The three modes

  • Off: the skill is disabled. Blake never runs it, even if you ask.
  • Ask: Blake proposes the action inside the chat and waits for your approval before running it.
  • Auto: Blake runs the skill on its own, within safe rails, when the context matches.

Autonomous send is disabled for send-skills in v1. Even if you set Send email to Auto, Blake never sends outreach without your explicit approval.

Where to configure

Open Settings > Skills. Each row shows the skill name, a short description, the current autonomy level, and a Configure action for more options.

PLACEHOLDER: replace with skills-settings-list.light.png. Shows Settings > Skills with the preset switcher at the top (Conservative / Balanced / Autonomous / Custom) and a list of skill rows below, each with a name, description, Off/Ask/Auto selector, and Configure action.

Presets

You do not have to tune every skill by hand. Blake ships three presets plus a Custom option:

PresetWhat it does
ConservativeMost skills on Ask, everything reviewable. Best for the first weeks of a workspace or for sensitive teams.
BalancedRead-only skills on Auto, write skills on Ask. The default for most teams.
AutonomousWrite skills on Auto where safe. Best after your workspace has built trust with Blake.
CustomYour own mix. Set per skill.

Switch preset and Blake applies the new level to every skill. You can override any single skill afterwards; Blake keeps your overrides even if you switch preset again.

The v1 skill catalog

Blake ships seventeen skills in v1. A shortlist of the ones you will use every day:

  • Draft email (Free and up): drafts outreach in an EmailCard. Never sends.
  • Send email (Scout and up): sends the draft. In v1 always waits for your approval.
  • Summarize thread (Free and up): condenses a long inbox thread.
  • Prepare call brief (Free and up): assembles a call briefing card.
  • Update deal stage (Closer and up): moves a deal to a new stage. Reversible.
  • Schedule meeting (Closer and up): proposes and books a meeting.
  • Enrich contact (Closer and up): pulls extra fields for a contact.
  • Log activity (Free and up): logs a call, email, or meeting. Reversible from the recycle bin.
  • Ask Blake for summaries (Closer and up): ask Blake for a summary of any period — today, this week, this month, or a custom range.

The full list, including internal Discovery skills, lives in Settings > Skills.

When Blake asks for approval

An Ask skill lands as a card in the chat with an Approve button and any editable arguments. Nothing runs until you click Approve. If you edit before approving, Blake uses your edits.

PLACEHOLDER: replace with skills-approve-card.light.png. Shows a skill approval card in the Ask Blake chat: skill name, editable arguments (for example a deal stage picker), Approve and Cancel buttons.

If you leave a card unactioned, Blake declines the request after 24 hours. Nothing runs, nothing is saved.

Undo

Every write skill supports undo:

  • Log activity and most write skills: reversible from the recycle bin.
  • Update deal stage: reversible from the deal history.
  • Draft email: delete the draft from Outlook.

If a skill is not available

  • Locked with an upgrade prompt: the skill needs a higher plan. Check the plan minimums above.
  • Greyed out with "Autonomous send disabled": send-skills in v1 always wait for your approval, even on Auto.
  • Missing entirely: the skill is behind a feature flag not turned on for your workspace. Ask your Admin to check backstage.
