What is Ask Blake?
Ask Blake is the agentic AI assistant that understands your workspace and helps you decide what to do next.
Ask Blake is the agentic AI assistant built into your workspace. It understands the business context you have already stored in Blake (your companies, contacts, deals, Discovery signals, and activity history) and helps you decide what to do next. Ask it a question, ask it to generate something, or, depending on the Skills you have enabled and their autonomy level, ask it to take action on your CRM. You point Blake at what you mean by naming or @-mentioning a company, contact, or deal in the composer.
What Ask Blake can do
Ask Blake groups its answers around four everyday uses. The prompts below are examples of how it comes up in daily work.
Prospect research
- "What do I need to know before my meeting with Acme tomorrow?"
- "Give me a briefing on Acme's business and why they might be a fit."
- "What signals made Blake score this company at 87%?"
Writing outreach
- "Draft a first-touch email to the procurement lead at Acme."
- "Rewrite this email in a more direct tone."
- "Draft a follow-up for a prospect that did not reply to my first message."
Deal advice
- "Why has this deal been stuck in Proposal for three weeks?"
- "Which of my open deals are most likely to close this month?"
- "What did we do differently on deals that closed in Q1?"
Actions on your CRM (via Skills)
- "Move this deal to Negotiation and set the close date to end of quarter."
- "Log that I spoke with them yesterday and they want a follow-up next week."
- "Stage a first-touch email in my Outlook drafts."
Where you can use Ask Blake
Ask Blake travels with you across the workspace. It opens as a floating panel over whichever page you are on, so you can bring it into a conversation from wherever the work is happening.
- From anywhere. Press Cmd + B (Mac) or Ctrl + B (Windows and Linux). You can also click Ask Blake in the sidebar footer.
- From a detail page. Opening Ask Blake while you are on a company, contact, or prospect detail page can give the conversation additional context to work from. You still point Blake at what you mean by naming or @-mentioning it in the composer.
- In two view modes. The panel floats over the workspace in a compact sidebar companion and a fullscreen focus view. Cmd + B toggles between the two while the panel is open. Close only through the close button in the panel header; Cmd + B does not close the panel.
How Blake answers
Blake builds its answer from your workspace context: the company profile, previous interactions, the Discovery signals that scored the company, and patterns from comparable deals. Every answer shows the sources it used. Skills that take action land as reviewable cards inside the chat. You approve every card before anything writes to your CRM or lands in your Outlook drafts.
Ask Blake is also how briefings work. Blake can analyse your CRM, conversations, emails, and activities to generate a briefing for a company, contact, deal, or meeting, together with suggested next actions — briefings are an application of Ask Blake, not a separate module.
On a new workspace, Blake has limited history to draw from. Answers become sharper as your workspace closes its first deals and you pin lessons via Blake Memory.
The autonomy dial
Skills run at one of three levels per skill:
- Off: the Skill is disabled entirely.
- Ask: Blake asks for approval before acting.
- Auto: Blake acts on its own, within safe rails.
Autonomous send is disabled for send-skills in v1: Blake never sends outreach for you without your explicit approval, even on Auto. See Skills and autonomy for the full model.
What Ask Blake cannot do today
- Autonomously send outreach. Every send waits for your approval in v1, regardless of the autonomy setting.
- Guess what it does not have. Blake grounds every answer in what is in your workspace or in public sources you connect. If a fact is not there, Blake says so instead of inventing it.
- Replace your judgment. Every answer is a starting point. You verify, adjust, and decide.
