Pipeline and Forecast

Read the pipeline widgets and use the Forecast lens on Closer and up.

The Deals section groups the working views on your revenue: the deals grid, the Pipeline widgets, the Forecast lens, and the Rankings leaderboard. This article covers the two most useful ones for daily work: Pipeline and Forecast.

The four tabs

Open Deals in the sidebar. The shell shows four tabs:

  • Deals: kanban ⟷ grid of every open deal.
  • Pipeline: widgets that visualise the whole book.
  • Forecast: KPIs, target manager, team breakdown, top closers, quota coverage. Closer and up.
  • Rankings: leaderboard. Dealmaker and up.
PLACEHOLDER: replace with deals-tabs-strip.light.png. Shows the Deals shell tab strip with Deals / Pipeline / Forecast / Rankings, with Pipeline active, plus the primary +New deal button in the top right.

The Pipeline tab

Pipeline is your at-a-glance view of the whole book. Widgets:

  • Revenue Trend: closed-won revenue over time. Weekly or monthly rollup.
  • Pipeline By Stage: total pipeline value per stage.
  • Deal Flow Funnel: how many deals move from stage to stage. Big drops highlight bottlenecks.
  • Win/Loss: ratio of Won to Lost, with the closed values.
  • Deal Mix: breakdown by deal type, size, or industry.
  • Recurring Trend: MRR/ARR contribution over time.
  • Loss Reasons: bar chart of the eleven loss categories. Useful for pattern-spotting.
  • Target Progress: how close you are to hitting your quota this period.
  • Focus: which companies and deals need attention now.

Drag the widget headers to reorder your board. Blake remembers the order per user.

The Forecast tab (Closer and up)

The Forecast tab is available from Closer. On Free and Scout the tab is visible but greyed out with an upgrade tooltip.

Forecast is the lens for revenue planning:

  • KPI grid: expected close, weighted pipeline, best case, worst case, quota gap.
  • Target Manager: set quarterly and monthly targets for the workspace or per team.
  • Team Breakdown: pipeline and forecast per team.
  • Top Closer: who has closed the most this period.
  • Top Deals: which open deals will move the number the most.
  • Burndown, Cashflow Projection, Deal Velocity, Forecast By Type, Quota Coverage: supporting charts.

Every card carries a date filter so you can flip between periods without leaving the page.

Filter across the whole page

The period picker in the top right sets the time range for every widget on the tab. Options include Last 7 / 14 / 30 days, Last 90 days, This quarter, This year, All, and a Custom range.

Some widgets (Pipeline By Stage, Deal Flow Funnel) have their own secondary filter for finer control.

Ask Blake about your pipeline

The daily loop pairs well with Ask Blake:

  • "Which of my open deals are most likely to close this month?"
  • "What did we do differently on deals that closed in Q1?"
  • "Why has this deal been stuck in Proposal for three weeks?"

Blake grounds the answer in your live pipeline data and links back to the deal cards it references.

If a widget looks off

  • A widget is empty: no deals matched the current period filter. Widen the range at the top.
  • Forecast is greyed out: your plan is Free or Scout. Upgrade to Closer for the Forecast lens.
  • Numbers do not match what I expect: check the loss-reason distribution and whether recent deals were marked Won or Lost correctly. See Move a deal through your pipeline.
